ドゥニ・ディドロ

[1713.10.5 - 1784.7.31]

フランスの哲学者、美術批評家、作家。ダランベールとともに『百科全書―序論および代表項目』を編纂した、いわゆる「百科全書派」の中心人物。思想的には、合理的な法に基づいて世界が創造されるとする理神論から、後に唯物論・無神論へと向かった。著書は他に『ダランベールの夢』『絵画について』『運命論者ジャックとその主人』『ラモーの甥』『修道女』『お喋りな宝石』等。
